As Jolly Green Giant mentioned, it is most probably because the blues are heavier and your muscle memory relies on using reds, which are lighter to actuate. If I'm not mistaken, Cherry blues and reds use the same spring, so their bottom out (4mm press) weight should both be 60g, IIRC. However, due to the clicking, the blue switch will actuate

Alright so let’s think of the anatomy of these switches ( mostly of the blue compared to the red) blue switches use a click jacket to generate a microscopic level of tactility and an audible click. Most people find them pretty damn annoying. The red switch, is pretty much the exact same, but without a click jacket. .
